Things to know before you visit

Cut-off times
Post Office® branches have different cut-off times for deposits. Check with your local branch, as this affects when your deposit credits your account.

  • Cash paid in with a debit card: credited immediately
  • Cash paid in with a paying-in slip:

Before cut-off: credited by the end of the next working day

After cut-off: credited within two working days

PIN requirement
Depositing cash with your debit card now requires your PIN. If you don’t know your PIN, you can request a PIN reminder in the mobile app or contact us.

Chip & signature cards
These cannot be used at the Post Office®. You can still deposit cash using a barcoded paying-in slip. If you need slips, contact us and we’ll provide them.

Cheque deposits
Cheques are added to your account when we receive them from the Post Office®, usually within two working days. They then follow the normal cheque clearing cycle. Occasionally, it may take longer for cheques to reach us.

You can also pay in cheques using the mobile app.

Separate transactions
Cash and cheque deposits must be processed separately.
