When sending payments to the countries listed below—regardless of the currency—you must include a Purpose of Payment Code in the Payment reference. The only exception is Qatar, where the code can be provided in the Purpose of Payment instead. These codes are required by the central banks of the destination countries for regulatory reporting. Payments that do not include a valid code may be rejected by the receiving bank.
