Gift-it is a gifting platform where your child can be gifted money as well as receive keepsake messages from family and friends on special occasions. Children can receive monetary gifts on their special days or use the money as a contribution to their savings
An Event is a specific occasion that you wish contributions to be made towards e.g. your child's birthday and a goal is if your child is saving for something specific e.g. a bike that you wish family or friends contribute towards
For now, Gift-it is only available to our customers that have a first saver in trust account for their child but there could be more child's accounts added in the future, stay tuned!
If your child's account is not visible in Gift-it means that the account is not eligible for the Gift-it journey at this time.
You can send an "anytime gift" which is not linked to your goal or event. This is found in the 'manage family' menu within Gift-it
You can't set a goal or event for multiple children in Gift-it this must be done individually and not a collective goals between all children
Use the Swith to child Timeline option to see the child version of the timeline. You can than share your device with your child so they can see their goals, events and gifts. To switch back use the 'Switch to Adult Timeline' option.
You can delete gift invites in NatWest Gift It in the goal or event itself, or in the 'manage family' menu for deleting an Anytime Gift.
There is not a way of blocking an unwanted gift. However, you can delete the event and create a new one for your child
Please be aware that you may need to pay tax on your child’s savings account interest if it exceeds £100. Further information on the taxation of interest on children’s savings accounts can be found on gov.uk
