Cheque Clearing - What are the benefits to me as a customer?

Cheques will be processed faster - Funds from a paid-in cheque will be available for you to use quicker than at the moment. The new clearing system will speed up the time it takes a cheque to clear from 6 working days to 2* working days.

This will also mean that funds will debit your account much quicker on cheques that you issue as well, so please ensure you have the available funds before issuing any cheques.

*A small number of cheques may take longer to process.
