What is Click to Pay?

Click to Pay is a secure way to shop online without needing your card details or passwords. You would just need your mobile phone to hand.

This is already available to use with some online retailers, with more coming available soon.

You would need to sign up either in the Ulster Bank mobile app or at the checkout of the online store where it's available.

Once registered:

  • Look for the Click to Pay icon on websites that accept Click to Pay
  • Select your card you wish to pay with
  • Check out securely in a few clicks

The Manage Cards section of the Ulster Bank mobile app now has ‘Add to Click to Pay’, allowing you to add your Mastercard or Visa card  to Click to Pay. Once you complete the registration journey, you can start paying online with Click to Pay with retailers that offer this option.

  1. Log into the mobile app
  2. Select the Current Account with a Mastercard or Visa card
  3. Select 'Manage Cards & Apple Pay' or 'Manage Cards & Google Pay'
  4. Under the image of the card, there will be an icon to add card to Click to Pay
  5. Follow the on screen instructions to sign up

When paying online, select 'Click to Pay' option to pay if it's offered as a payment method and follow the on screen instructions to sign in and choose which of your registered cards you want to use. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the payment.

If any of the followings is incorrect:

  • Name
  • Email  
  • Mobile number

You need to update these via Mobile App, Telephone Banking, Anytime Internet Banking or visiting a branch, this will update your Click to Pay Profile

There are no charges or fees to use Click to Pay, however if you are purchasing in a foreign currency there may be some exchange rates applied.

Select any account that has a debit card,  and then select 'Manage Click to Pay' from the list, this will show you which cards are active on your Click to Pay profile. 

I have my card frozen via the card controls, what will happen with Click to Pay?

If your card is frozen, all transaction will not be authorised. To use Click to Pay, unfreeze your card and then go to the checkout online and select Click to Pay.

No action is needed, other than when you next shop online and see Click to Pay as an option at check out, continue as you were. 

How many times can I add/remove a card from Click to Pay?

How many times can I add/remove a card from click to pay

You can add and remove your card as many times as you wish. However,  for ease of use and speed of check out, we recommend adding your card and keeping it saved.
