Sign up for your local roadshow to:

  • connect with like-minded businesses and organisations

  • develop a better understanding of the context of your business in relation to the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs).

  • practise your influencing skills to engage others and build interest

  • learn from local peers and come away with tangible actions to help you on your journey

The UN’s Agenda 2030 aims to inspire action on the SDGs to eradicate poverty and achieve sustainable development on an economic, social, and environmental scale. The goals may be global in nature, but they’re applicable to communities everywhere – and they require collective mobilisation if they’re to be met by 2030. A successful journey means a better world for everyone.

This year’s UN Global Compact (UNGC) UK Network Roadshow is supported by the bank and inspires collective action on the 17 SDGs. Attendees will pick up knowledge and skills to help them effectively engage with Agenda 2030 and accelerate action on sustainability.

They also benefit from peer learning, sharing of best practices and discussion on shared targets, developing a whole systems approach to delivering the global goals.

The UN Global Compact Network does fantastic work to support businesses, aiding networking and helping deepen our understanding of the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals

Paul Thwaite
CEO of Commercial Banking

This year is no different and will be hitting the virtual road with UK city stops throughout October, bringing together hundreds of like-minded stakeholders.

Paul Thwaite, CEO of Commercial Banking, says: “We’ve been members of the UNGC since 2003, working together to support businesses in taking positive and collaborative action across critically important areas, such as human rights, gender equality and climate change. With the bank supporting around one in four businesses in the UK, we recognise the key role we play in supporting the transition to a low carbon economy and are committed to doing our part.”

“The UK-wide series of events focus on the action required by businesses, no matter their size or industry sector, to support the transition to a low-carbon economy, and it will be an important opportunity share different experiences as we all work together to make the progress needed.”

In the lead-up to the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference in November, where NatWest is the official banking sponsor and a principal partner, you can join your regional roadshow event to build collaborative networks with businesses, local authorities, and civil society organisations in your area. Each roadshow will feature a diverse range of inspirational talks, practical workshops, and networking opportunities to help your business make the low-carbon transition.

Feel empowered to take the next steps in your sustainability journey, form long-lasting partnerships, catalyse change through your organisation, and ignite innovation to build back better and create the future you want.

The UNGC Global Goals Roadshow supported by the bank  runs from 5 – 28 October, with virtual events in Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff, London, Belfast, Glasgow.
