For Direct Cash In or Out, start by selecting a suitable courier company – the choice is yours – but please bear in mind that only couriers that are registered members of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) are approved for entry into our cash centres. For details, check the BSIA website.

They’ll charge you Cash in transit (CIT) fees, which are based on how often you need them and the level of indemnity needed to insure your cash. For info on fees, speak to your courier directly.

The courier’s contract will outline its liability terms, which may vary, but should clearly state what it covers and how liability is determined if issues arise. Specific collection or delivery time windows can be agreed, though tighter schedules might increase costs. The courier is liable for cash in its possession, so keep receipts safe. They must also provide proof of delivery or collection if queried, which may incur a charge.

Phone your usual bank contact with details of the credit slips and bag numbers. We’ll find out if the delivery has been received at our cash centre. 

If we haven’t received the deposit, contact your courier and ask them to trace the bag. You’ll need to quote the details on the courier receipt given to you at the time of collection. Responsibility for the cash only passes to us when the bag has been delivered to our cash centre and a receipt has been issued, so ask your courier to confirm they can produce this.

Get in touch with your courier, as the delivery may already be on its way. You’ll agree a time window for deliveries, but couriers will vary their actual arrival times for security reasons.

• Direct Cash In: Notes and coin received at the cash centre by 10:30am on a business day will be processed at the end of that business day and will be available to use at the end of that business day.
• Direct Cash out: Your account is debited on the day the cash is delivered to your premises.

Yes, you can, subject to the terms of your contract with your existing courier.

Please let us know about the change in advance (at least 30 days’ notice), as we might need to arrange new documentation before we can accept or send cash. Don’t forget, any new courier you select must be one that has been approved by us for entry to our cash centres.

Yes you can deposit cheques with Direct Cash In. You’ll need a separate paying in slip for cheque deposits. If you mainly deal in cheques, you  might be interested in our Cheque solutions.
