You don’t need a card machine to take payments. While a card machine is great for face-to-face sales, you can also take card payments online or over the phone using our Online Gateway. This includes options like Virtual Terminal and Pay by Link, which are easy and secure. Even if you don’t have a website, you can still send customers a payment link. It’s a simple, safe way to get paid without needing to be in person.     

You'll be able to take credit and debit card payments from Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Diners Discover. You can also accept contactless payments, including Apple Pay and Google Pay.  

You’ll want to think about where you will use your card machine and how you will connect to the internet. If you are regularly on the move or have no Wi-Fi, a 3G/4G card machine will be a better fit. We offer a range of connectivity options to best suit your needs and environment, including Wi-Fi or Ethernet for use at a fixed premises and 3G/4G for everywhere else.

With Tyl, you can take payments securely online and in person, whether you’re using hosted payments pages or one of our range of card machines. Taking payments in these ways helps keep your cardholder data safe and minimises your PCI exposure. When you take payments on our hosted pages or using a pay by link, you also get the added benefit of 3D Secure authentication, which helps reduce fraud and reduce your liability for chargebacks. 3DS2 is a way to make card payments more secure. Tyl is already compliant, meeting the government’s new PSD2 regulations, so you’re good to go.
