Sign up for the mobile app

You'll need:
 

• Your mobile phone
• Your mobile phone number
• Your Anytime Internet Banking customer number and Partial PIN & Password

Once you have downloaded the app you will be prompted to enter your mobile number and accept our Mobile Banking Terms & Conditions.

We will then ask you to confirm your mobile number so we can send you a one time activation code by text message.

When you have this code, follow the simple steps below to sign up for the Ulster Bank app.

Step 1 - Enter activation code here. We will send it to the mobile number you provide during the initial part of registration.

Step 2 - Set up passcode. You only have to do this once. You will need the passcode every time you log in so make sure you keep it safe.

Step 3 - Enter customer number. If you don't know it, get your customer number here

Step 4 - Enter your Anytime Internet Banking PIN and password. If you have forgotten these, get new log in details here

Congratulations.  You can now instantly check your balances, make payments and much more on the move.  Enjoy the Ulster Bank app.

Log in to the app using your fingerprint
 

A quick and convenient way to login to your app using the fingerprint you registered under Touch ID. This option is available to eligible Apple & Android devices and operating systems. Simply login once you’ve updated the app and go to the ‘More Menu’ to enable this option.

How to register
 

1. Make sure that you have Touch ID enabled on your iPhone
2. Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the Ulster Bank iPhone app from the app store
3. When you log in to the app you will see this screen and you can choose to enable Touch ID (to turn it off at any point, go to the app's 'More' menu)
4. Once you launch the app after enabling Touch ID, you will be able to log in using either Touch ID or your app passcode

To register for biometric approval you just need a mobile device with the mobile app, and a forward-facing camera for face biometrics. If you would like to use voice biometrics, your device will need a working microphone.

1. Open the app and select the initials icon in the top corner to access 'My Profile'
2. Tap 'Settings' and select 'Biometric approval' from the menu
3. Tap 'Register now'
4. Next, follow the on screen instructions to register your biometrics

If you don’t have notifications on, we’ll ask you to turn them on. This will help when you need to approve something.

When we ask you to approve something later, you can use your face or voice to confirm it's you.

Only one business can be registered to one mobile number at any one time.

If you want to set up or amend a payee in Anytime Banking you will need a card-reader or your mobile app if you have registered biometric approval. However, you shouldn't need one to arrange a payment to someone you have already paid online.

 Make a payment using your mobile app

If you have signed up to biometric approval then you can make payments up to your personal payment limit by using the account number and sort code of the person or company you want to pay. If you have not signed up to biometric approval you can make up to 5 payments each working day subject to the £750 limit, or 20 payments over 4 working days.

However, with 'Pay someone new', you can send a maximum of  £50,000 in a single payment if you are registered for face biometrics. The recipient will appear in your saved payees after the first time you pay them and authorise using your face biometrics.

Faster Payments will usually be received by the payee almost immediately after leaving your account, but can sometimes take up to 2 hours.

Payments and transfers that you make after 6:30pm Monday to Friday, at weekends and on bank holidays leave your account immediately but will be deducted from the next working day’s payment limit and shown on your statement as the next working day. This includes payments made on any of these days on Anytime Banking but scheduled to leave your account the following day. Outside of these exception times, the date displayed will be the date you made the payment.
