The new Debit Mastercard®. Business your way

Your new Debit Mastercard is on its way

We’re switching to Debit Mastercard and all our business customers will soon receive a brand new replacement debit card. Nothing is changing with your account, and your card will work in just the same way.

We’ll be launching the new card from early this year and will let you know closer to the time when you can expect to receive yours through the letterbox.

Your old Visa card will stop working soon so take a look at how to get your new Debit Mastercard up and running. We won’t contact you to request any personal details, so any requests you get could be a scam. We’ve gathered some Information below so you can help protect yourself from fraud and scams.

We'll also be covering how you can update your digital wallet and pay for things with just your phone, as well as any other questions you might have.

Do these next bits when you get your new card (they really don’t take long)

Step 1

Chop up your old Visa card.

Step 2

Pay once with your PIN or withdraw cash (don’t worry – it’s the

same number as before). After this your new card should be ready to make contactless payments.

Step 3

Make sure to check that your details are up-to-date on any websites that you use regularly, and don’t forget subscriptions or

recurring payments.

Step 4

Add your card to your Apple Pay and Google PayTM digital wallet. A great way to pay while you’re out and about. Retailer limits may apply.

Step 5

If you haven’t already, download our app. The easiest way to manage your money on the go. Our App is available to personal and business banking customers using compatible iOS and Android devices. You'll need a UK or international mobile number in specific countries.

Step 6

Grab a pen and sign the back of your new Debit Mastercard

Red flags to watch out for

One thing to remember is that we’ll never ask for your PIN, password or card reader code. Never reveal your card reader code or one-time passcode (OTP) to anybody, and never approve a payment in your mobile app that you haven’t made. If somebody is asking you to do any of these things, it’s a scam.

You can report suspicious emails to phishing@ulsterbank.com and texts to 88355. If you’ve received a suspicious phone call and think you provided any of your personal security details during the call you can contact us on 159.

Good for the business world. Amazing for the whole world.

From late 2021, our new cards will be made from 86% recycled plastic. With a reduction of 7g CO2 per card, we'll save about 23 tonnes of plastic (normally destined for industrial waste) and 50 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year.

And that's not all, as we're aiming to make all our operations climate positive by 2025.
