Take online payments

Make your business better

Online shopping looks set to stay and to make sure your business stays up to date Tyl by NatWest could help you accept online payments.

With 3 different secure payment-taking options – via your website, through a link or on any secure device, it’s easy to set up too, whatever type of business you’re running. So why not try something new today?

What are my options for online payments?

Secure payment pages

If you’ve already got a website, then simply plug in our optimised and responsive payment pages and you’ll be taking payments in a flash. You can change how the pages look and feel too, to match your brand.

Pay by link

That’s right – a simple, safe and secure unique link that you give to your customer to pay. Can be helpful, even if you don’t have a website of your own, it also uses ‘3D Secure’ technology to protect against fraud.

Virtual terminal

Here you’d use your internet browser to take payments over the phone. You’ll also be able to keep an eye on your transactions using a secure desktop, tablet or laptop.

How do I get started with taking online payments?

It’s simple when you’re with Tyl. We’ll charge you a single monthly fee, and there’s also processing costs and PCI, which we’ll give you more details about in your personalised quote.

There’s no long contracts either – just a rolling one. And access to the Tyl portal for no additional cost will mean you always know where your money is.

You’ll pay £14.95 (+VAT per month).

How safe are online payments?

We’re reducing the likelihood of fraud by using the ‘3D Secure’ programme across our hosted payments pages and virtual terminals to look after your customer data.  What’s more, they all comply with 3DS2 too, which is the government’s new even more secure payment rules.

What happens next?

1. Receive a specialist quote

Based on your business needs, your quote will be a 30-day rolling agreement, not a fixed term contract.

2. Speedy set up

You’ll be able to take payments after you’ve been approved and set up. That’s usually within 48 hours.

3. Watch your cash come in

The money will be in your account the next business day, which we think is pretty handy.

4. See how it’s all going

Use the Tyl portal to keep an eye on everything – it’s all included in your package.

Anything else you’d like to know about how it all works?

Tyl will make sure that you have a test (or ‘sandbox’) account so that you (or your friendly web developer) can literally play around with your new feature before you make it live.

There’s also a guide to help you out and make sure that you can connect to the hosted payment page.

And if you need a hand with anything there’s real people on hand to chat to as well. You can get in touch with our specialist dedicated support team if you arrange a session via email online@support.natwest-tyl.com (Monday – Friday 9am-5pm).

If you’re already one step ahead and you’ve already got e-comm shopping cart functionality, then there’s super simple plug-ins available. Built for Tyl by Sellxed, you’ll find them for some of the most popular platforms.
