Student account - Day-to-day banking

You must repay the overdraft within one year of completing your course.You must repay your overdraft if we demand. We may ask a parent or guardian to provide a guarantee as security. We can provide an interest-free overdraft if you ask when you apply for an account. The overdraft is an authorised overdraft limit available to everyone with a student account. You may not go over the overdraft limit without getting our permission first. If you go over your overdraft limit, we will charge interest at the rate shown in our ’A Guide to Personal Account Fees and Interest’ brochure. An unpaid item fee and other charges may apply. You could have an overdraft of £3,000 if you are studying medicine, dentistry and pharmacy, depending on your circumstances, our conditions and a satisfactory credit check.

  • Student credit card - with an automatic limit of £350 if we accept your application.

  • Travel insurance - we also arrange travel insurance if you're going abroad. Call 0800 051 1399 for a quick quote, Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm. Conditions apply. Travel insurance is only available if you live in the United Kingdom, including Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. Some exclusions may apply. 1 Internet and Telephone Banking

Available if you have an Ulster Bank student account. Internet and Telephone Banking are governed by our terms and conditions. You can ask for a copy of these at any Ulster Bank branch.
