Anytime Mobile Phone Banking & Text Alerts are currently free to all Ulster Bank accounts, although if you registered for the full Mobile Banking service your mobile phone network may charge for downloads.
Will I be charged for downloading data?
That depends on which mobile phone network you use. At the moment, Orange, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone charge for downloading, but other mobile phone networks don't - as long as you're in the UK.
If you use the service abroad, there may be extra charges. Please check with your mobile phone network.
Will Anytime Mobile Banking work on my phone?
Anytime Mobile Banking works on most modern mobile phones. If your phone has a camera or games, it should work.
If you're interested in the technical details, your phone must:
- support Java
- have at least 64kb of free memory
- be able to connect to the internet - using WAP (GPRS) or 3G.
Support for the iPhone(TM) and Windows Mobile Devices is coming soon.
If your mobile phone isn't compatible, you can still keep an eye on your account using Anytime Text Alerts which works with any handset.
Will Anytime Text Alerts work on my phone?
As long as you can receive text messages on your mobile phone, then our text alerts service should work on your phone.
What accounts can I access with mobile phone banking?
You can access most types of Ulster Bank current and savings accounts. All you need is a debit or ATM card for each account.
Will Anytime Mobile Phone banking work with my mobile phone network?
Yes, if you're phone's on:
- O2
- Vodafone
- T-Mobile
- Orange
- Tesco Mobile
- Virgin Mobile
- 3
Can I use Anytime Mobile Banking outside the UK?
Yes. You'll also need to check with your mobile phone network that your phone allows international roaming.
Remember that your mobile phone network may charge you differently for using Anytime Mobile Phone Banking outside the UK. It's a good idea to check before you go abroad.
Can I use Anytime Mobile Banking if I have a joint account?
Yes - but both of you will need to register separately. That's because you need to access the service using your own mobile phone and password.
Do I need to set my mobile phone up specially to get Anytime Mobile Phone Banking?
All you need to do is make sure you have GPRS enabled and up-to-date WAP settings - Don't worry if your not sure how, when you register, we'll automatically prompt you to download the latest settings for your phone.
You can also download or update your WAP settings on the Monilink website.
I've received my handset verification code (HVC), but I can't view it. What should I do?
This is probably because your phone doesn't have the necessary technical specification. If so, you won't able to use Anytime mobile phone banking. However, you can still sign up for Anytime text alerts
I haven't received the text with the link to download the Anytime Mobile Phone Banking software. What should I do?
If you haven't received this within five minutes of confirming your card details, text
' DOWN' to 82428 and we'll resend it.
Why did my card fail verification?
For security reasons, we can't tell you. However, it may be that you made a mistake when you gave us your card details, so we suggest you try to register again. If your card fails a second time, contact us.
How do I set my passcode?
We'll prompt you to do this the first time you log in to Anytime Mobile Phone Banking.
Your passcode must be between five and eight numbers long. Choose something you will remember, but other people cannot guess. You'll need your passcode every time you log in to Anytime Mobile Phone banking.
I've downloaded the Anytime Mobile Phone Banking software to my phone, but I can't find it. What should I do?
It should be in your applications or games menu. If you still can't find it and need help call us on 0808 168 2960.
How do I cancel Anytime Mobile Phone Banking or Text alerts?
If you no longer want the service, just text ' STOP' to 82428.
How can I delete the Anytime Mobile Phone Banking software from my phone?
It's simple. From the mobile phone banking screen, select Options and then delete or remove.
How do I stop receiving text alerts for one of my accounts?
You'll need to do this online. Log in to the service as an existing text services customer, then follow the on-screen instructions to cancel alerts for your chosen account.
How can I change my service from Anytime Mobile Phone Banking to text alerts?
Simply text ' STOP' to 82428. You then need to sign up for text alerts.
Will Mobile banking work on my iPhone?
Yes. The iPhone Mobile Phone Banking Application can be requested directly from Ulster Bank were you will be directed to the Apple Store to download the application. Alternatively you can go directly to the Apple store and download via the applications menu. Text Services are also available on iPhones.
Ulster Bank Mobile Phone Banking and Text Services are currently free of charge to all personal customers. Data Charges may apply on the Orange & Virgin Networks for anytime mobile phone banking.
