How much can I borrow?

You can borrow any amount in multiples of 50 from 1,000 to 25,000.

Over how long can I take a loan?

If you're borrowing for home improvements, you can take the loan over 10 years. Other loans can be taken for up to 5 years, for loans of 10,000 or less, or up to 7 years for loans greater than 10,000. Holiday loans can only be taken over 1 year.

The minimum borrowing term is 1 year.

How soon will I receive my money?

If you are an existing customer registered for the Anytime Banking service, we may be able to give you an instant decision on your loan application. In this case your funds will be available the next working day.

If you are not registered for the Anytime Banking service, we will send you an application pack within the next 3-7 days. Once you have completed and returned this pack to us, your loan funds will normally be available within 48 hours, subject to all our credit requirements being met.

If you require funds urgently we would advise you to visit your local Ulster Bank branch.

Applications made by phone after 7pm and on Saturdays will not be processed until the following working day and we will contact you with a decision.

When is my first repayment due?

Your first repayment is due approximately one month after you sign your loan agreement.

What is a credit search?

This is a search we make on your name and address with a credit reference agency to assess your credit history. Our search will then be noted against your records. This will let other institutions know that we have requested information about you.

What is a credit reference agency?

This is an organisation that compiles credit related information on people throughout the UK. The details come from publicly available records and lenders such as credit card companies and banks.

What is an APR?

Annual Percentage Rate (APR) helps you compare the real cost of borrowing. Lenders have to quote the APR when they advertise a loan or borrowing rate. The APR must also include any charges made by the lender.
